Future Fishing Fanatics

As thousands of anglers know, fishing is a great way to relax outdoors, enjoy the sights and sounds of nature and even catch a healthy and tasty meal. When you fish with the young people in your life, you are instilling your love of the outdoors in them, as well as the importance of natural resource stewardship.

Because of the conservation and recreation value of fishing, the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation has funded kids’ fishing events, stream protection and fishing facilities since 1997. Founded that year to provide an additional revenue source for conservation, the Foundation to date has invested more than $3 million for stream protection and more than $45,000 for fishing events, fish research and public fishing facilities. Fishing docks and fish cleaning stations have been funded in partnership with the Missouri Department of Conservation on MDC lakes and on lakes they manage through the Community Assistance Program (CAP lakes).

The Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation helps those who wish to invest in a conservation legacy to fund the programs—like fishing—that are most meaningful to them.
